Broken Bones

Why is it so difficult to learn from our mistakes?  When we take some particular action there is always an equal and opposite reaction. I suppose that's why baking agrees with me. I find I can rely on the results if I say use parchment paper in the bottom of my baking pan my cakes will never stick. If I always cook my simple syrup to 238 before I pour it into my medium whip egg whites my buttercream will be smooth and lovely.   Learning from mistakes...how can I translate a baking lesson into a life lesson?
